Ginger Cafe wakes up Hurd Street

Bistro Broad loves a new place. And the Ginger Cafe on in Downtown Lowell is a newcomer that should be recognized.
I literally popped into this place an hour ago and the chef/ owner were the nicest proprietors one could hope to find on the streets of L-ville. A quick gaze at the chalkboard specials yielded tasty and affordable eats. Sandwiches made with ginger, curry and avocado vied for my attention. Which way to go? I am returning next week for an in-depth interview and bistro broadcast, but in the meantime, if you are looking for lunch in all the wrong places, give Ginger a shout out. I may have mentioned this before, but it bears repeating — they brew George Howell's Terroir Coffee, oh yeah. Cozy area downstairs is ideal for a mid-day tryst. We hear the lawyers and ladies at Saints are digging it. Where's your favorite lunch spot?

Gazebo Cafe at the Textile Museum is a hopping place these days, with lots of good vibes from the many visitors the museum is hosting. Also great Greek specials, like egg-lemon soup ($3) and extra large slabs of spinach pie ($4). Try the excellent fries ($2.75 for huge serving) with your super-sized subs. My fave is the veggie, filled with tasty good-for-you stuff and smothered in melted cheese. It's only $4.50 and big enough for two to share.
Plus, there's free parking outside. No nasty meter maids to worry about.

What are the hours of this place - lunch only? Is it open on weekends? I can't resist anything ginger related so I'll be checking this place out soon as I get a chance.

Closed weekends? It will be closed in a year if they're lucky. What restaurant school did they go to if they make enough with those hrs then kudos to them. I give it 6 months tops. The Sun will be out of business in 6 months anyway, it has turned into a rag. If i see one more pet page i will vomit.
