Both serve malt vinegar. The Quarterdeck reminds me of the Cast Iron Kitchen, next door. They must have a fish n' chip to be reckoned with.

Comment on Fish n' chips for the soul

I hear that Flo's Clam Shack in Portsmouth RI has killer fish n chips.

Comment on Fish n' chips for the soul

Yesss, Peddler's has the most amazing F&C! Their homemade ketchup isn't my favorite - it resembles salsa too closely for me - but the flavor is quite delicious.

Comment on Fish n' chips for the soul

Hey, BB,
I fantasize every year at this time about the fab fish and chips I chowed down on during a visit to London 15 years ago.
And, while the classic dish is delish eaten out, it's not hard to make at home either.
I did it last week with the freshest pollack (a cod cousin) ever from Quarterdeck in Maynard. I dipped it in flour, egg, then breadcrumbs, rather than batter. Since Foodie Guy's on a heart healthy diet, I fried the thick fish in canola oil and 0 trans fat margarine. The "chips" were actually baked fries, another heart-healthy option. And I used Heinz no salt ketchup, a good alternative if you want a fresh tasting condiment without the hassle of making your own. We added a dollop of Quarterdeck's coleslaw for a great fish and chips dinner at home.
Enjoy,
Foodie

Comment on Great Plates still feels good

I meant to send in the hot chocolate at centro to you as SOMETHING TO DIE FOR - woo hoo - I had a great steak dinner and tried to expand my tummy to fit this in it was so good - plan to go back just for this - no food
